This little black Chow Chow doesn't show it's detail well, darn it. Jane Callender was a well known California ceramicist in the 1950's and 1960's. Most of her dogs were modeled in whimsical poses or with humor. She used a lot of spaghetti and texture to set her dogs apart from the crowd. This one is no exception. The fur tips show white through the glossy black glaze.It sits 2 1/2" tall and 3" from front to rear. Very rare piece. $38.00 |
